Past experience of media

Art and design (fashion&clothing) gave me an insight of the different rolls within the media industry as I was able to look more into the theatrical side of media when I was told to create costumes for a school production Alice In Wonderland. The characters I made the costumes for were Tweedle Dum and dee.

My first encounter of making my own short movie was for a friends birthday. I gathered still images and placed them onto a slide show were I edited the shots to a backing track. I was delighted at the end result and the positive feedback I got from friends and family. This made me realise what I enjoyed doing and what I may be good at in the future.  

My interests in the media as both consumer and producer is that I enjoy keeping up to date with whats going on in the world and it amazes me that there are so many ways that we can keep in contact e.g: radio,social networking sites,mobile phones,television,books,magazines etc.

I mainly use websites such as www.youtube.com to keep up to date with different topics of media. I follow people that intrest me in what they do whether it be make up tutorials or  keeping up with the latest celeb news.

About Me!

Hi am Megan and I am a student currently studying Media Professional studies at John Moores University. I chose to study this topic in order to get a clear understanding on how the media industry works and learn how its changed from past to present. Media has always been an interesting topic to me because I have engaged in many activities related to this area during sixth form.
Moving Image Arts,Media and Fashion &Clothing were topics I chose to study in Sixth form. I got a genral idea that these topics would help me whatever area of media I chose to aim for.

During the past few years I have took part in many short films and made my input with the post production. I love seeing my work viewed by others and the feedback i get helps with achiving my goals in the future. I am looking forward to what I will achive during the next 3 years of university and I am hoping to let my creative side spill out in any work that I may do.
